The 2010 budget speech (proposals for the 2011 Tax year) was made in parliament today (17 February 2010)

Key Proposals include :

*   Earners under R57,000 pay no tax.

*   Marginal Rate remains at 40% but threshold increased to R552,000.

*   SITE to be abolished.

*   Total Personal Income tax relief of R6.5 billion.

*   Primary rebate increased to R10,260

*   Secondary rebate increased to R5,675

*  Under 65 Tax threshold - R57,000

*  Over 65 Tax threshold - R88,528
